Alternative procedure Optional field on a QR-bill which can be used to address an eBill.

Registration form A form for obtaining additional information from the invoice recipient at the time of registration in the eBill portal. (See Dibito documentation.)
Registration (Subscription) In order for an invoice issuer to send an eBill to an invoice recipient, both parties must agree to this process. The result of this is a registration. (See Dibito documentation.)
API Abbreviation for Application Programming Interface. A technical interface that enables different systems to communicate with each other. Used for seamless integrations. (See Dibito documentation.)
Advice A type of eBill business case. Advice notes have no amount, do not lead to a cash flow and are for information purposes only.
B2B Abbreviation for business-to-business. Business relationships and transactions between companies.
B2C Abbreviation for business-to-consumer. Business relationships and transactions between companies and private customers.
Permanent release An authorization issued by invoice recipients in the eBill portal, which enables eBills to be paid automatically. Invoice recipients can optionally set a maximum limit for the amount paid.
eBill The digital invoice for Switzerland. Delivered directly to the invoice recipient's eBanking portal.
eBill Direct Debit Replacement for the direct debit procedure. Enables direct posting from the invoice recipient's account. Alternative to standing approval.
eBill Donations A function of eBill that was specially developed for donations to charitable organizations. (See SIX documentation.)
eBill e-commerce The integration of eBill in online stores and e-commerce platforms as a payment method. (See SIX documentation.)
eBill for Business Software A concept for expanding the eBill system for business software to automate invoicing processes.
eBill Sharing A function in the eBill portal to grant second persons access to the eBill user account. Second persons can view, download, approve for payment or reject invoices.
Recipient identification Identification of an invoice recipient in the eBill system. Email address for private individuals, UID numbers for companies and optionally unique 17-digit recipient IDs.
ISR Payment slip. Replaced by QR-bills in 2020 and is no longer used.
Business case eBill does not only recognize invoices and generally refers to business cases. Business cases are:

- Invoices
- Reminders/payment reminders
- credit notes
- Notifications
- Installment payments
- Donation requests

Credit note A type of eBill business case. Credit notes are only used for information purposes in the eBill portal and do not result in a cash flow. A credit note is paid out via a separate payment channel agreed with the company.
IBAN Abbreviation for International Bank Account Number. A standardized international bank account number for the unique identification of accounts for financial transactions.
IID IID (Institution Identifier) is used in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to identify financial institutions as participants in the Swiss RTGS systems. Each institution is assigned at least one IID.
SMES Abbreviation for small and medium-sized enterprises
Direct debit procedure (LSV+ and CH-DD) A payment method in which the biller is authorized to collect money directly from the bill recipient's account. Will be discontinued in 2028. The eBill system replaces the direct debit procedure with standing authorization and eBill Direct Debit.
Reminder A type of eBill business case. A reminder replaces a previously sent invoice and serves as a payment reminder for the invoice recipient.
Network partners Companies that offer eBill integrations for invoice issuers and handle communication with the eBill operator SIX. Dibito by Codeblock GmbH is an official network partner.
QR code The QR code is a two-dimensional barcode in accordance with ISO 18004.
QR-IBAN For payments with a structured QR reference, the QR-IBAN must be used to specify the credit account.

QR reference The QR reference is 27 digits long (26 numeric characters
followed by a check digit after modulo 10 recursively) and can be used by the biller as a structured reference. Alternative to the Creditor Reference.
Quick Approval A function in the invoice recipient's eBanking for the direct release of invoices without switching to the eBill portal.
Swiss Payments Code The Swiss Payments Code (SPC for short) is the character string that contains all the information on the invoice. The Swiss Payments Code is contained in the Swiss QR Code.
Swiss QR Code The Swiss QR Code is at the heart of the QR-bill and enables payments to be initiated at financial institutions via all payment channels and at the post office counter.

Payment by installments (Instalment Bill) A type of eBill business case. A payment method in which the total amount is divided into several partial payments over a fixed period of time.
Invoice without amount An invoice that is issued without a specific amount. The recipient determines the amount to be paid himself.
Invoice recipient The natural or legal person to whom an invoice is addressed and who is obliged to pay it.
Biller The natural or legal person who issues an invoice for services rendered or goods delivered.
SIX SIX Group AG. A Swiss financial services provider that operates the eBill infrastructure for the Swiss financial center, among other things.
UID Abbreviation for company identification number. Unique identifier for companies and organizations.

(QR) payment part The payment part of the QR-bill contains the information required to make a payment in the form of a QR code and as readable information. The payment part has a DIN A6 landscape format (148 mm x 105 mm).
Rejection The rejection of an invoice by the invoice recipient in the eBill portal.
